Let's Read Carnival!!!

On the 4th of October, St Stanislaus High School was the hosts for the Let’s Read Carnival organised by the NGO, United Way.  The Carnival was a special treat for 1300 children from Municipal schools across Mumbai who sat down for reading and storytelling sessions and were each gifted a bag with books.  Our Stanislites as part of their SSCP social outreach actively participated and assisted the organisers.  It was a day well spent for a worthy cause – to promote the love of reading.Learn More

This World's God's creation, a place full of wonder and beauty To care for and preserve it, is each one's duty, So we at St Stanislaus, this message did impart, Through song, dance, poetry, drama and art.

The message of Care for Creation which is the theme for the year at St. Stanislaus was beautifully elaborated upon at the Appreciation Day of the Primary Section in the school hall on the 8th of September.  The program began with a prayer thanking God for the year gone by and invoking his blessings on one and all. Linguaphone Childrens English Programme Primary

Proud to announce, that St Stanislaus has opened a Language Lab, using the Linguaphone Children’s  EnglishProgramme.

The aim of this programme is to help children who are weak in English and need additional support and assistance in the language. It takes the children through a process of Listening, Understanding, Imitating and Speaking.

The teachers had a training workshop on how to make this programme most effective.

Trip to ‘Talasari’- A place of tribal inhabitance, forest and field

Field trips have been an integral part of the geography. Hence a trip to ‘Talasari’- a place of tribal inhabitance, forest and field was planned for our Std. X boys.  This was a good opportunity for our children to experience the JOY of being in the company of nature and learn about the life and culture of the tribal inhabitants. The walk through the village, the experience of working in the field and the time spent with the students there has left a memorable experience in the minds of the students.

Introducing Citizenship Club

On 10th September, 2018, a new club known as the citizenship club was introduced to the students of standard 8. This club fosters the importance of understanding our roles as citizens of India. It invites students to voluntarily participate in civic services.

To understand the purpose of starting up this club Mr. Ryan D’mello, a Program Manager at ‘Desh Apnayen’ took our students through a session held in the Arupe Hall. ‘Each of us has a personal responsibility to care for creation, this precious gift which God has entrusted to us.’Pope Francis.

The Holy Father in his encyclical ‘Laudato si’ has called on all to care for our common home. At St. Stanislaus high school, we have taken this message to heart and hence chose “Care for Creation” as our theme for the year 2018-2019.

Clay modeling/Origami Competition

The boys of Std.I and II had a clay modeling competition and the boys of Std.III and IV had an origami competition on 21st August 2018.Students displayed their talents through clay and paper. Work done by the boys was a piece of art. The boys enjoyed themselves when at work. Two prizes were awarded to each class. Students learnt a lot by making articles themselves as well as by watching their friends. it is rightly said ‘A child’s mind is not a container to be filled but rather a fire to be kindled.’—Dorothea Brande.
