Independence Day 2013 celebrations at St. Stanislaus

Our country’s Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal in our School. All assembled at 7:20 a.m and we began with the tricolor being hoisted by our esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Ms. Marie Fernandes, Principal of St. Andrews College and the singing of the National Anthem. The boys, guests and teachers proceeded to the School Hall for the rest of the programme.

The programme began with a patriotic speech exhorting all to live in universal brotherhood. This was followed by a play on Honesty titled ‘Satyavadi Harishchandra’. A dance to the beats of ‘Yeh desh veer jawano ka’ was put up by the boys of Std.IX.

The Chief Guest shared her views on the significance of the day, appreciating the programme too. Our Std.X toppers who scored above 90% were felicitated.  A very helpful interactive session ensued where in the Principal Fr. Jude questioned these toppers and their parents on various aspects of their preparation for the SSC Exam.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Principal, the School Anthem was sung with great gusto and the programme ended with the hall resounding with the slogans ‘Hum sab ek hai’, ‘Bharat mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram. This celebration concluded with a short fellowship between the teachers, the SSC toppers and their parents.
