SCOUTS MAKE BANDRA GREEN

The West Mumbai Suburban District  Bharat Scout & Guide Association celebrated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti with a tree plantation at the District office Juhu, on Sunday, 2nd October2011. The programme was conducted by Mr. Leonard Gonsalves  (District Chief Commissioner).

The Std. X Scout boys of St. Stanislaus High School lived up to their scout law. A scout is a friend to animals   and loves nature. The Scout boys planted  a dozen Ashoka trees and an equal number of ornamental plants on Waroda Road (behind the School) on 3rd October under the guidance of Asst. District Scout Commissioner Mr. Elias Corriea (Stanislaus School).

The spot which used to be a dumping ground for garbage and an eyesore and a cause of foul smell is now converted into a ‘no-garbage’ zone. This area is also now demarked as ‘no parking zone’. The Scout aims in making  Bandra green and  beautiful.
