Sesquicentenary Inter-school English Debate

After the eyes of Bandra witnessed a spectacular launch for the sesquicentennial celebration, St. Stanislaus, marched forward with its maiden event, the Interschool English Debate. This was the podium for an interactive and representational argument that supported the technique of persuasion. It was a momentous occasion as 8 schools from Bandra (W) participated in the elimination round held on the 21st of July 2012. The semi-finals and final round culminated into a dream success on the 1st Aug. 2012 in the school Auditorium.

The simple motivation behind the event was to create an opportunity for skills in debating, while establishing a link that goes beyond academics. This nail-biting experience took Awa Bai petit girls school and St. Stanislaus into the finals. Children have their own reasoning and logical patterns of thinking. Congratulating the winners, Awa Bai Petit for their brilliant performance, the host school, St. Stanislaus was runner-up; while the best speaker award was truly bagged by  Ms Noorelle Khan, from Petit Girls High School.

The audience were blessed with a rare opportunity to witness a spectrum of talent from confidence to reasoning, persuasion and defence, ensuring an edge over others for our participants.
