Stanislite athletes electrify the 119th MSSA Track

St.Stanislaus High School emerged champions at the 119th MSSA Annual Inter school Athletic Championship, which concluded on January 10, 2013 at the Goregaon Sports Club, amassing a record 148 points and bagging the coveted Tata Challenge Shield, awarded to the school with the highest total aggregate points in the Boys category. In addition, St. Stanislaus H.S. made a clean sweep of all age groups in the Boys section, winning the Ahmed Sailor Challenge Shield for highest points in the Midget, Sub- junior & Junior Boys category, the Sidiki Challenge Shield for highest points in the Boys Intermediate category, and the Hosey Mistry Trophy for highest points in the Boys Senior category.Our School has bagged the Tata Challenge Shield & Ahmed Sailor Challenge Shield for the third year in succession and the Sidiki Challenge Shield for the second year in succession. The outstanding individual performers were :Shane D’costa (Std.III) won Gold in 100 metres and Silver in 50 metres in the Boys U/8 category.Adam Alvares (Std.V) won Gold in 100 metres and Silver in 50 metres and long jump in Boys U/10 category.In the Boys U/12 category, Gerard Quadras (Std.VII) won Gold in 100 metres & 200metres and Bronze in long jump, Kevin D’Souza (Std.VII) won Silver in 100 metres and long jump, and Bronze in 200 metres and Keith D’Souza (Std.VII) won Silver in 200 metres and Bronze in 100 metres.In the Boys u/14 category, Sam Fernandes (Std.IX) won Gold in Javelin throw and Bronze in Shot Put, Sherwin Desa (Std.IX) won Silver in 100 metres, Mark Almeida (Std.IX) won Silver in Shot Put and Jason D’Mello (Std. VIII) won Bronze in 800 metres.In the Boys U/16 category, Mayur Bhivara won Gold in 3000metres and was awarded the Lala Lajpatrai Shield. Nashon Pereira won Bronze in 800 metres & 1500 metres.
