Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better

15th August 2016, marked 70 years of Independence The Staff and Students of St Stanislaus High School commenced the celebrations with the hoisting of the flag by our Chief Guests, Ex-Stanislites, Master Srinivas Venkatesh and Master Brenden Don Barretto, both doctors in the making, at 7.30.a.m.

The National Anthem was sung with great fervor accompanied by the School Band.

The Chief Guests, then proceeded to the hall for a short program which started with the lighting of lamp, asking God to bless our motherland. A short skit by Tr. Cindrella Dmello, showed the boys, through song and dance how to be responsible and dutiful citizens. A speech on Independent India by Master Amir Zakaria, emphasized the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.  Kickboxing, another form of martial arts was also demonstrated.

The Std X toppers, who scored above 90% were also felicitated.  The toppers shared the secret of their success with our current Std.X boys.

Our Chief Guests, inspired the  Stanislites with speeches that drew their attention to the many opportunities the school had to offer..

The Principal, Tr. Anna ended with a vote of thanks and exhorted the boys to be proud of their country and its rich and varied heritage.


Budhia Singh Born To Run Anthem

National award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee ensured that the anthem launch of his forthcoming awe-inspiring biopic, Budhia Singh – Born To Run was one to remember!  This is an inspirational true story of the world’s youngest marathon runner Budhia Singh – Born To Run.  The movie is the celebration of an ordinary boy who rose from the ashes like the phoenix and made his country proud.” It is based on the relationship between Budhia (Mayur Patole) and his judo coach, Biranchi Das, played by Manoj Bajpayee. Das rescued the little boy from one of Bhubaneswar’s most notorious slums and helped him achieve incredible heights.

Taking onlookers and the gathered media by surprise, the versatile actor arrived at the venue, St Stanislaus School, Bandra, running along with Master Mayur and took couple of rounds of the basketball court.

After the panel discussion, the soul-stirring anthem of Budhia Singh Born To Run was launched amidst a packed house of school children and the media. The students were very happy to get wrist bands and t-shirts from Viacom18 Motion Pictures.


Celebrating the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola

The celebrations for the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola Patron Saint of the Loyola house, started off on the 25th July 2016, with a class-wise, Chart Competion  based on the Loyola house motto – “ Ideals in Actions.

Stds. 5A & 6C, Std. 7A & 8A  and Std 9B & 10 C , were the proud winners.

A Loyola house canteen,organized by the boys of Std. X was held on the 27th August.

Fr. Gerard Rodricks was the main celebrant at the Feast day Mass,on the 30th July He told the boys to “Pray as if everything depended on God and work as if everything depended on you”, as St. Ignatius did.

The festivities continued in the Therapy Room with the ex-teachers and staff followed by a short programme in the hall. 


Bastille Day Celebrations at St. Stanislaus High School

Bastille Day is the French National Day, which is celebrated on 14 July each year In France,.

The French National Day commemorates the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789,[1][2] an important event 226 years ago in Paris in the French Revolution, which had begun two days earlier,[3] as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France.                                                                             

The students of Std. VIII &  IX, studying French celebrated Bastille Day at St. Stanislaus High School on the 15th July with a special programme.

The boys assembled in the N.C.C room wearing patriotic badges pinned on their left shoulders. Every badge had a famous French historical site and the French flag in ribbons of blue, white and red.

The programme commenced with the well known song “Champs-Élysées” written by “Joe Dassin”, welcoming Chief Guests, Principal Anna Correa and Supervisor, Sr. Arockia.

The boys had prepared speeches and a PowerPoint presentation on the French Bastille Day,

Some of the boys had prepared food items like delicious garlic bread and chocolate.

Madame Bona, the French Teacher, gave a speech about the French Bastille day and talked about the French specialties.


Stanislites excel at Mathematics and Science Olympiad

Master Ahmed Yasin and Master Ibrahim Khalil did their School proud at the Maths and Science Olympiad 2016. Master Ahmed Yasin gave an outstanding performance at the Math and Science Olympiad while Master Ibrahim Khalil gave an outstanding performance in the Math Olympiad

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education is the nodal centre of the country for Olympiad programmes in mathematics and sciences including astronomy. The programmes aim at promoting excellence in science and mathematics among pre-university students.



Aman Sheikh of St X B winner of 6 medals

Aman Sheikh of St X B has won 3 medals for Boxing matches held in February 2016 and in April 2016 at different venues in Mumbai 2 medals for Karate and 1 medal for a sport called Thang-ta – a game which originated in Manipur and consists of sparring  with a wooden sword, a shield and head gear to protect the face. 





Immaculata 2016 Legends of tomorrow

IMMACULATA 2016 is an inter school talent show put up every year by the St. Mary’s School, ICSE, Mazgaon. In its fifth year, the successful show took place on 2 and 3 July and 24 participating schools vied for the title of best School in Mumbai.

More than 150 boys from our school participated in the Performing Art, Literary Art, Fine Arts, Global fusion, Out of the box, Sports center and other events with great enthusiasm.

Our boys bagged 4 Trophies.  The 1st prize in Racquet Royale, 2nd in Legacy Reborn and 3rd place in both The Big Band Theory and Ultimate Games


Doctors Day 2016

Doctors Day is celebrated on July 1 all across India to honour the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West BengalDr Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was born on July 1, 1882 and died on the same date in 1962, aged 80 years. Dr Roy was honoured with the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna on February 4, 1961.

Doctor's Day is observed to lay emphasis on the value of doctors in our lives. July 1 pays a perfect tribute to all the doctors who have made relentless efforts towards achieving improvements in the medical field irrespective of the odds.

Nine doctors attended the Doctors Day program in School.  The programme started with a prayer. The doctors introduced themselves and the fields they specialized in. They then answered questions & queries put forth by the students.

A short skit prepared by the PTA members highlighted self-diagnosis and how we use the internet to detect and try to treat diseases on our own.

The doctors were given a small token of appreciation, followed by a delicious lunch.


VAN MAHOTSAVA The festival of trees

Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival in India This movement was initiated in the year 1950 by India's Union Minister for Agriculture, Dr.K M Munshi.

  • Millions of saplings are planted all across India in observation of the Van Mahotsav week.
  • It is expected that every citizen of India has to plant a sapling in the Van Mahotsav week.
  • It helps spread awareness amongst people about the harm caused by the cutting down of trees.

St.Stanislaus High School celebrated Van Mahotsava with great enthusiasm by planting trees in their school premises.   20 pits were dug in the school compound and on 1st July, the trees were planted by the Principal Mrs. Anna Correa, Supervisor Sr. Arokia and the Chief Guest Mr. A.R. Vanoo, the Chairman of the Hind Foundation (NGO).

As a part of the Van Mahotasav celebration in School, a tree plantation drive was organized for the nature club boys on 2nd July 2016. The Chief Guest was the chairperson of the Hind Foundation, Mr. A.R.Vanno. He enlightened the boys on the importance of trees and the need to protect them for a healthy environment. Further the teachers gave them an input session with audio-visual clippings and short film on saving trees. 200  saplings were distributed to the  nature club boys by Mr. A.R.Vanno and our Principal Tr. Anna.


Marathi Teachers Seminar 2016

A two day workshop was organized by the Archdiocesan Board of Education on the 23rd & 24th June2016 for the Std.X and Std.VI Marathi Teachers in order to enlighten them about the new Paper and Evaluation Pattern for Marathi.

Teachers from 130 schools across Mumbai attended this workshop.

Dr. Sneha Joshi, from the Maharashtra State Text Book Planning Committee,  was the resource person. She explained to the teachers of Std.X that though the text book was the same, the paper pattern had changed.  Std.VI has a new text book, and she explained in detail how to follow the portion, as the exercises are more activity based and there is less rote learning.

The Teachers had a group activity to enable them to frame the question papers.
