“Man for Others” – The legacy of St. Stanislaus High School

 St. Stanislaus School concluded its yearlong Sesquicentennial celebrations by staging “Man for Others” a musical on the school grounds also referred to as the Grand Finale – it was based on carrying the legacy of St Stanislaus High School forward, with every Stanislite both past and present living the motto ‘Born for greater things’.

Bandra Schools Road Safety Rally

On Tuesday, 7th January, 2013, 800 Students from 14 schools across Bandra walked to St Stanislaus High School, Hill Road Bandra (W) holding aloft banners and Placards that had special road safety messages for all. These were provided by Safe Kids Foundation.Encouraging them in their venture the Traffic Police of Mumbai and the Bandra Traffic Division ensured that this student rally got their entire support and encouragement. St. Stanislaus bags 2nd place in Jr. NBA tournament

St. Stanislaus school bags 2nd place in the Mumbai city championship Jr. NBA tournament held at St. Domnic  Savio High School, Andheri (E)

This tournament was held on Wednesday, 18th December to Friday, 20th December 2013. Our Basketball team participated in the U-13 and U-16 category.

Master Aarmaen Askari bagged the 2nd place in the Hot Shot Mumbai Championship (U-16).

St. Stanislaus School 150th Annual Athletic Meet

St. Stanislaus School had its 150th Annual Athletic Meet on Saturday, 14th December 2013 at 1:30 p.m. on the School Grounds.  As tradition goes, we had the parents of the School’s Sports Captain Master Sam Fernandes as our Chief Guest. Parents of the Assistant School Sports Captain Master Kevin Barnes was the Guest of Honour.

The MarchPast by the Xavier, Loyola, Kostka and Britto Houses and the NCC have always been the pride of a Sports meet. So is the hoisting of the School flag by the Chief Guest Mr. John Fernandes and the Sportsman’s Oath taken by the Sports Captain.

St Stanislaus celebrated Human Rights Day around Bandra on 10th December 2013. It looked like a whole generation had suddenly gone berserk with road safety slogans and clean environment concerns. These were Stanislaus students sending out messages on the occasion of Human Rights day. They chose Bandra Station, Bandstand and Carter Road as venues for their performance .

Annual Pilgrimage to Mount Mary’s Basilica

As tradition may be, the Staff and Stanislites were all geared to pray as they walked to the Mount to offer prayers and invoke blessings from Our Lady of the Mount on Friday, 6th December 2013. The feast of the Jesuit Saint, St. Francis Xavier was also celebrated on that day. To make this event more meaningful to our brethren of other faith, Stanislites were taught hymns in Hindi and Marathi.

The vow of going on a pilgrimage was undertaken as many of our School boarders were spared from plague years ago. This tradition still continues.

Navjeet Inter School Drama Competition

On Thursday, 5th of December, Navjeet Community Centre of Holy Family Hospital organized a drama or a street play competition for BMC and private schools at St. Andrew’s High School, Bandra.

This event provided a platform for all young, budding actors of various schools to showcase their talents on value based themes. 3rd Scout Sammelan 2013

St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra organized an Inter-school Scout Sammelan on Sunday, 29th September 2013. Six Jesuit School Troops from North Suburb, East Mumbai and West Mumbai suburb, assembled at the St. Peters K.G. grounds to commemorate the Sesquicentennial celebrations.

The Scouts spent half a day learning and understanding how to be better trained in skills like Estimation, First-Aid and lashing. Independence Day 2013 celebrations at St. Stanislaus

Our country’s Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal in our School. All assembled at 7:20 a.m and we began with the tricolor being hoisted by our esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Ms. Marie Fernandes, Principal of St. Andrews College and the singing of the National Anthem. The boys, guests and teachers proceeded to the School Hall for the rest of the programme.
