Celebrating the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

St. Stanislaus School Staff and students came together at a Eucharistic celebration to celebrate the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The main celebrant at this mass was Fr. Noel Pinto of Sneha Sadan while the other co-celebrants were Fr. Errol Fernandes, Fr. Jude Fernandes, Fr. Andrew Rodrigues and Fr. Juan. The theme of the mass was “to give and not to count the cost”

The choir sang the song of St. Ignatius of Loyola as their entrance hymn.  As usual the March of St. Ignatius- Noble Knight was belted out by the students who had been practicing it for over a week.

Teaching Marathi with a Difference

Dr. Girish Oak a well known Marathi theatre and film personality, addressed the Marathi faculty teachers from 20 schools in Bandra at St. Stanislaus High School on 16th July 2014. He enthused the audience into teaching Marathi with vigor and style. Dr. Oak discussed how Marathi can be conveyed in the most attractive way to students. New Academic Year – New Facilities at St Stanislaus

Our school re-opened for the new academic year on 16 June 2014. On the first day of school the new upgraded facilities of the school were also inaugurated and dedicated to the school. Upgrade of these learning spaces would not have been possible without the generosity of many of our alumni who helped make this happen. We thank our alumni from across batches who donated and helped with upgrading of the various facilities in our school.

St. Stanislaus celebrates 54th Maharashtra Day with glory

This ceremonious event was highlighted with the presence of the Maratha Light Infantry Piped Band (Military Band) that came in from Pune in full valor.

Present as Chief Guest was Dr. Girish Oak (Marathi Theatre artist and actor) and Guest of Honour  Ms. Sanjivani Bhelande (playback singer). Dr. Oak in his speech, praised the students for displaying their efforts in speaking the Marathi language even though we are an English Medium School. Many pronunciations sounded new to him. Lawrie’s XI Cricket tournament 2014

Cricket fever gripped St.Stanislaus as the Lawrie’s XI Inter-school Cricket Tournament was held for the 8th successive year between 15th and 17TH April 2014.

The tournament organized by St. Stanislaus High School was held at Ramesh Dadkar Grounds, Matunga Central.

The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was our former Principal Fr. Lawrie Ferrao SJ. His words of wisdom and encouragement to the young cricketers from various participating schools was received with rapt attention.

St. Stanislaus School hosts inter-school basketball

St. Stanislaus School hosted the Inter-school basketball tournament on its school grounds for the second consecutive year.

The tournament began on Monday, 14th April 2014 and concluded on Wednesday, 16th 2014. The Chief Guest at this meet was Mr. Esmero Figueiredo a legend of the Basketball fraternity. There was a special match organized for the three hearing impaired school children. This was the highlight of this event.

32 teams participated in the U-11, U-14 and U-16 category.

Annual Inter-school Project Awards Day at St. Stanislaus School

Friday, 14th March 2014 morning, witnessed an exhibition of sorts. It showcased the merits of a year long of hard work, the manifestation of our need to create and the rupture of new ideas.

We had about 800 students from different schools participate and experienced budding architects, scientists, musicians, artists, dancers, Historians, poets, writers and even shoe-makers display their talents through these projects.

The projects were on display two days prior to the Awards Day and had many parents come and view their child’s project.
