St Stanislaus 70th Republic Day Celebrations

On 26th January 2019, St. Stanislaus High School celebrated its 70th Republic Day in a glorious manner. This day is important to every Indian as it was on this day that our constitution came into effect.

We were honoured to have a very important person in our midst on this day as our Chief Guest Lt. Col Stephen D’costa along with his beautiful family graced this occasion with his presence. Rest in Peace Lt. General Francis Dias

Eminent Ex-student (1948 batch) Lt  General Francis Dias passed away on Republic Day This was an important day for him because he was conferred three very important awards on this day in the past by the President of India - the Param Vishist Seva Medal (PVSM), the Ati Vishisht Seva medal (AVSM), which he was awarded for distinguished service in counter-insurgency, and the Vir Chakra. He also fought in the 1965 and 1971 Wars. During Operation Cactus Lily, in the erstwhile East Pakistan, he led his battalion to capture Bogra Town on December 14, 1971. Republic Day Celebration 2019 (Primary)

This year Republic Day was celebrated in the Primary Section on 25thJanuary 2019. The programme was organised  by the boys and teachers of Std IV.

After a short introduction about Republic Day, the programme began with a prayer service. The boys sang the hymn ‘This little light of mine’ as Tr. Jennifer Pereira, the headmistress of the primary section, along with four students dressed in their traditional outfits lit the Samai. This was followed by prayerful petitions made for our country. The prayer service ended with the singing of the hymn ‘Bind us Together Lord’.

Geography Quiz

The Geography Club held an exciting Quiz Competition for their members on 12th January 2019. The members were asked to prepare themselves on various topics based on the subject. Students from the club from STD 5 to STD 9 answered the various questions to the best of their abilities. Three students bagged the prizes for this competition. They were Kaide Pereira (VI B), Gandhar Inagle (VI C), and Aditya Jadhav (VI A). It was a good experience for all the students and they enjoyed the Quiz Competition.Learn More

155th Annual Athletic Meet 2018

The 155th Annual Athletic Meet was held in the morning at 9.15 am, on Saturday, 15th December 2018 on the school grounds.

Chief Guests, Mr. Mahesh Mayekar & Mrs. Priya Mayekar, parents of Master Saurabh Mayekar, Sports Captain, and Mrs. Mercy Gomendes, mother of the Assistant School Sports Captain, Master Darren Gomendes, were welcomed with a Guard of Honour by the Scouts.

Prabhat Pheri for MahaSwachh Bharat Abhiyaan

On 12th January, 2019 the seventh standard Nature Club and Scouts boys along with the Nature Club teachers participated in the Mahaswachh Bharat Abhiyan with a Prabhat Pheri from Bandra bazaar road to Jain Mandir.

The students assembled on the school ground at 7:20 am sharp and classwise marched towards the bazaar road to display the consequences of having an unclean society. Students prepared colourful charts and placards with slogan and messages highlighting the importance of a safe and clean environment.

A Stanislite Christmas

Our Christmas celebrations in school aren’t complete without a Christmas programme in our school auditorium. All the 160+ children of std. 2 enthusiastically took part in the performance for our primary section. After reciting a few petitions for the prayer service, they kept up the prayerful atmosphere with a prayer dance. Then in a short skit, our wise grandma explained to her little ones what the true meaning of Christmas was, and she used a lovely tableau of our Lord’s birth to do the same.

Fare-thee-Well Tr Yvette

The 21st of December 2018, witnessed a spectacular event in school as Tr Yvette Coutinho celebrated her 58th birthday. It was time to hang up her boots and enjoy a full time retired life thereafter.

Tr Yvette made her grand entry at 10:15 am with her family and then was escorted to the hall by the school band in full honour. The Principal, Mrs Anna Correa, Fr Malcolm and Sr Arokia accompanied her to the auditorium as the students gave Tr Yvette a standing ovation.
