On 8th July, 2026, the Leo's Nature Club of St. Stanislaus High School celebrated Van Mahotsav with great joy. The day emphasizes the importance of preserving forest; and promotes planting trees and protecting biodiversity.
We began the celebration with highlighting the importance of the day. We were honoured to have Fr. Luke Rodrigues SJ as our chief guest, who is well known for his immense love towards nature and the efforts he takes to inspire the youth and the community in taking up environmental initiatives.
We then had a meaningful prayer service, energetic street play and dance performances, promoting conservation and adopting sustainable changes in our day to day life.
To kindle a sense of love for nature in our students, we conducted various competitions like Best Out of Waste, Chart Making and Essay Writing for the Nature Club members of std 5th to 9th on the theme, 'Nature Conservation and Sustainability.' All the winners were felicitated with exciting prizes and certificates. Eco warriors were appointed for every class, who later took an oath to be responsible stewards of nature.
To conclude our celebrate, every nature club member was given a tulsi sapling to take forward the plantation drive at their homes. The students not only carried home the tulsi saplings, but also carried a renewed sense of responsibility to care for the environment and inspire others to do the same.
The Van Mahotsav celebration reminds us that every small step towards protecting nature can create a greener tomorrow. Together, we pledge to nurture nature for a healthier and more sustainable future.
