St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra organized an Inter-school Scout Sammelan on Sunday, 29th September 2013. Six Jesuit School Troops from North Suburb, East Mumbai and West Mumbai suburb, assembled at the St. Peters K.G. grounds to commemorate the Sesquicentennial celebrations.
The Scouts spent half a day learning and understanding how to be better trained in skills like Estimation, First-Aid and lashing. The use of the Compass was found interesting to give them a direction in finding their journey in life; and with signaling they learnt how to communicate in times of emergency when there is power shut down which prevents the present mode of communication. A game was also conducted to bring out awareness in communication with a group. The 50 scouts were given a Participatory Certificate by the Principal of St. Stanislaus School, Fr. Jude Fernandes S.J. In his concluding message, he encouraged the student scouts to make use of these skills in daily life; because once a Scout always a Scout in keeping with the motto ‘Be Prepared’. We acknowledge the help of the Scouters of St. Mary’s SSC Mazgaon, whose training skills were passed on to the other Scouts present in a creative manner
