The 65th Independence Day started with the flag hoisting by our Chief Guest Dr. Harish Shetty, in the presence of the parents of the SSC toppers as guests, followed by a salute to the National flag and the singing of the National Anthem.
The Chief Guest a practising Psychiatrist with a Post Graduate degree in Psychological medicine, was then escorted to the School Auditorium by the School Council for the cultural program planned for the day.
The cultural program began with a brief introduction of the chief guest and the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and the Principal and other eminent guests present there.
Awardees of the Param Vir Chakra were also remembered and homage was paid to Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey. An audio visual presentation highlighted the brief work done by martyrs for the country. This was prepared by Mr Shiv Prakash Pandey with the help of the teachers from the Computer Department and compered by Master Tahir Khan and Master Reuben Lobo
A patriotic song was sung by a group of boys prepared by Tr. Neeta Dharmai.
A fusion dance was presented by a group of boys with the help of ex-student Master Kunal Jesani and Ms. Pervez Motafram.
The group of students who topped in the SSC Exam of March 2012 were felicitated, headed by Tr. Rubina Shaikh quizzing and extracting the tips and tricks for the present SSC batch. Certificates were distributed to students followed by students and parents sharing their experiences with SSC Toppers.
The program ended with prize distribution to the present 10th Std. class, headed by Mr Rahul Dave and supported by the other teachers.
The day ended with light snacks given to teachers and guests in the staff room and museum respectively, organized and supported by the Teachers in the Independence Day committee.
