On 26th January 2021, We, the Stanislites, of a Republic India, celebrated the 72nd Republic Day with great pride and zeal, both physically in school and on a virtual platform. It is rightly said that ‘Real heroes don’t wear capes. They wear scrubs and work in hospitals.’ Hence, we dedicated this day to all the frontline health workers who have been rigorously fighting the Pandemic. We were honoured to have in our midst, Dr. (Sr.) Beena, a religious sister belonging to the Congregation of Ursulines of Mary Immaculate, as our Chief Guest. She is currently the Deputy Director of the Holy Family Hospital and also works as a full time Consultant Gynecologist and DNB teacher for the past thirteen years. She was an inspiration to our boys to take up healthcare careers and give back to our society. We began the celebration with the Preamble led by Master. Aaron D’costa, followed by the Flag Hoisting Ceremony and singing the National Anthem. The Pledge was led by Master. Ayush Tiwari; and Master. Cristiano Corriea shared his inspiring thoughts on this auspicious day. Our enthusiastic teachers did not hold back too. Singing the patriotic song, ‘Ae Watan’ they brought in the feeling of belongingness towards our Land. Virtually, our students enthusiastically displayed their patriotic fervour through dance, singing, and music. They also participated in the Essay Writing Competition conducted for the boys of std 5th to 10th. Our NCC boys went a step ahead by planting saplings to promote a healthy nation. It was indeed a day to remember. A day to remind ourselves of our duties towards our nation.
