Bastille Day is the French National Day, which is celebrated on 14 July each year In France,.
The French National Day commemorates the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789,[1][2] an important event 226 years ago in Paris in the French Revolution, which had begun two days earlier,[3] as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France.
The students of Std. VIII & IX, studying French celebrated Bastille Day at St. Stanislaus High School on the 15th July with a special programme.
The boys assembled in the N.C.C room wearing patriotic badges pinned on their left shoulders. Every badge had a famous French historical site and the French flag in ribbons of blue, white and red.
The programme commenced with the well known song “Champs-Élysées” written by “Joe Dassin”, welcoming Chief Guests, Principal Anna Correa and Supervisor, Sr. Arockia.
The boys had prepared speeches and a PowerPoint presentation on the French Bastille Day,
Some of the boys had prepared food items like delicious garlic bread and chocolate.
Madame Bona, the French Teacher, gave a speech about the French Bastille day and talked about the French specialties.
