The French Department celebrated French Day in Xavier Hall on 15th July 2026 to promote language learning and cultural appreciation among students. The event aimed to give students a platform to showcase their skills in French through literature, music, and performance.
The celebration began with the French national anthem, ‘La Marseillaise’. The opening set a respectful and patriotic tone and brought everyone together in the spirit of France.
Following this, students from Classes 9 and 10 presented a variety of performances in French. They recited poems and stories, and also sang French songs. The performances reflected the students’ efforts in pronunciation, expression, and understanding of French literature and music.
Students of Class 8 added charm to the program with their performance of the well-known French nursery rhyme ‘Frère Jacques’. Their confident recitation and coordination was appreciated by the audience.
French Day was a vibrant celebration of language and culture. The event encouraged enthusiasm for learning French and was well received by students and teachers alike.
