St. Stanislaus High School celebrated the 76th Independence Day with immense patriotism. It was the day that marked the completion of 75 years of freedom. A great milestone and remarkable moment for us as Indians. Indeed, a day celebrated with pride and honour here at Stanislaus.
The preparation for this day began a few days prior as the NCC, Scouts and RSP students went on a rally on the streets of Bandra to spread the awareness of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign initiated by the Government. Our students, also participated in this campaign by hoisting the Indian Flag at their homes showcasing unity in diversity by flying the ‘TIRANGA’
On the morning of 15th August 2022, the Independence Day celebration began with the flag hoisting by our very talented and spectacular chief guest and ex-teacher Tr. Margaret Pereira.
“Thousands laid down their lives for our country and we can never forget their sacrifices.”
On this day, we took the time to value our nation and never forget our forefathers who bought us freedom with their hard work, selflessness and sacrifice. Thus, Ethan Furtado of std 7, gave a very inspiring speech, highlighting the efforts of our freedom fighters who contributed in bringing freedom to our nation. Out Std 7 boys put up a very thought-provoking skit on freedom fighters. It was thoroughly a profound act followed by a group of boys along with the band, singing a Marathi patriotic song. Their melodious voices truly brought in the spirit of nationalism in our hearts. Our energetic and captivating dance performance on a medley of Patriotic songs, left each one of us tapping on our feet to the beats. Our chief guest then addressed our students by asking them to reflect on the true message that we could carry home from this meaningful celebration.
We truly celebrated our freedom with utmost fervour, zest and a spirit of patriotism and pray that the Indian Tricolour always fly high! Jai Hind!
