Poetry comes alive to me through recitation
Here at St. Stanislaus, our little Stanislites are encouraged to participate and express themselves, building their confidence through recitation thus making poetry truly come alive .
The English Elocution Competition was held on the 3rdof September for the students of standard 1 to 4 in the school auditorium.
Those students who were interested were asked to select a poem based as per their level. Eliminations were held on the 23rd of August first by the class teacher and then by the teachers of the English Elocution Committee. Once the finalists wereshortlisted, they prepared for the finale which was held in two batches.
All the participants took a lot of trouble to learn and present their poems with clarity, expression, voice modulation and confidence making the morning truly enthralling. This was much appreciated by our judges - our very own ex teachers Pauline, Gladys, Vivian and Judy who praised our students for their hard workencouraging them all.
The winners and participants received certificates.
The program ended with teacher Raynah our Headmistress giving the vote of thanks followed bythe singing of the school anthem.
