Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

The celebrations for the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Patron Saint of the Loyola house, started off on the 25th August 2017, with a class-wise, Chart Competion  based on the Loyola house motto – “ Ideals in Actions.

Stds. 5B & 6D, Std. 7D & 8B  and Std 9C & 10 A & C , were the proud winners.

This year the IGCSE students too participated, of which Group 2 and Group 4 were the winners.

A Loyola house canteen,organized by the boys of Std. X was held on the 26th August.

Fr. Gerard Rodricks was the main celebrant at the Feast day Mass, on the 31st August.  He told the boys and the girls (students of St. Stanislaus International School) that the key to happiness was - H- Humility, A – Absolute Poverty and

P – Providence.

The festivities continued in the Arrupe Hall with the ex-teachers and staff followed by a short programme in the hall.  

The new IGCSE section was also inaugurated by Fr. Oscar Rosario s.j., Superior of our Jesuits.

71st Independence Day celebration at St. Stanislaus High School

15th August 2017, the occasion of our country’s 71st Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal in our School.  We began with the tricolor being hoisted by our Chief Guest Bro. Conrad Fonseca, the singing of the National Anthem and reciting the  Pledge by the students and Staff.

A short and meaningful programme was conducted in the school hall thereafter.

It began with a Patriotic song and a rousing speech by Master Reuben D’souza.  A skit, based on the school’s theme for the year “Called to Serve”  highlighted the message that everyone is called to serve in some way or another.

A passionate speech by Master Yusuf  Zakaria was followed by a heart touching tribute to our soldiers of the Indian army which enkindled in all the students a sense of pride for all the armed forces protecting our Country.

Bro. Conrad then spoke about the true meaning of Independence and how we can be of service to our school and our nation by always being prepared – spiritually, morally and physically.

Our Std.X toppers who scored above 90% were felicitated.  A very helpful interactive session ensued where in these toppers and their parents were questioned on various aspects of their preparation for the SSC Exam.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Principal, with a strong message to practice acceptance and tolerance and to shun violence, not only in school but also in the world.

The School Anthem was sung with great gusto and the programme ended with the hall resounding with the ‘Bharat mata ki Jai’.

This celebration concluded with a short fellowship between the teachers, the SSC toppers and their parents.

Maharashtra Day 2017

Maharashtra Day is celebrated to commemorate the formation of the state of Maharashtra after its division from Bombay State on May 1, 1960.

The celebrations started off with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Shailaja Mulay,  the reciting of the Pledge and Prayer.

A skit showcasing the various leaders of Maharashtra, their works, and messages and a  lezim display  highlighted the energy and enthusiasm of this beautiful State.

Mrs Mulay in her speech to the students encouraged the students to read and write at least 5 sentences in Hindi and Marathi and 15 sentences in English. She told the students that they were the future of Maharashtra and to be “Persons with a class to stand above the Mass”.

The Atharva Trust Dombilivi, Awards of Craft and Drawing competition at the State Level were also awarded to the winners.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by our Vice Principal, Fr. Andrew Rodrigues s.j.

Teacher’s Day 2016

The PTA members joyfully celebrated Teacher’s Day on 2nd and 3rd September 2016.

2nd September was marked with a Eucharistic celebration, where in  Father Elton Namory, the main celebrant,  in his homily inspired the teachers to use their God given talents to educate the young minds and to bring out the best of the child’s abilities and potentials.

On 3rd September, the PTA began the celebration with a meaningful prayer service followed by an entertainment program in the school hall.  Master Ojas Jhadav, School Captian hosted the program for the Secondary School teachers.

The enthusiastic and talented PTA members worked very hard to train the Primary and Secondary boys to present a lovely and lively show for their teachers.

Darryl D’Souza the VP of the PTA concluded with a vote of thanks.

A Celebration packed with music, dance and a sumptuous lunch at the Manuel Gonsalves Trust was held later in the afternoon.

The teachers sang a thank you song to show their appreciation and gratitude to the PTA members for organizing this beautiful program.

St Stanislaus International School inaugurated

On June 16, 2016, history was made when the new school St Stanislaus International School was inaugurated.  The inaugural ribbon was cut by the principals of St. Joseph’s Convent and St Stanislaus HighSchool Sr Blanche and Mrs Anna Correa and two students of the new school. 

The ceremony was attended by the Manager of the school, Fr Frazer Mascarenhas and the Jesuit community of St Peter’s Church, students and parents of the new school, alumni from SSESA, Mr Gerry Mascarenhas and Mr Al-Naseer Zakaria.
