Celebrating Saint John de Britto Feast

“Everyone has a purpose in life, a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.” The above quote truly conveys the teachings of Saint John de Britto and it was put into practice on Saturday, 4th February, 2023.

The Feast of St. John de Britto, the patron saint of the Britto house, was celebrated on this day with great enthusiasm at St. Stanislaus High School. With the coming of February every Stanislite gears up for the amazing celebration that includes a Britto house canteen and a cultural programme.

On this occasion the school was decked up with charts and posters on Saint Britto. The celebration of the feast began with a solemn Eucharistic mass in the church. The main celebrant, shed light on the life of Saint John de Britto and encouraged our boys to get inspired by his teachings.

A spectacular cultural programme was held in the school auditorium after the Eucharistic celebration. Masters Christiano D’silva and Joshua Pereira were the comperes for the day. They did an awesome job as the audience paid complete attention till the end of the programme. We commenced the celebration with a brief introduction on Saint Britto.

Here at Stanislaus we always start every event and occasion with prayers. Thereafter to evoke the blessings of the Almighty and to purify and prepare the state by offering prayers in the form of dance, Std 7th boys danced gracefully and enlightened the crowd with the presence of God. A beautiful power point presentation depicting Saint John’s journey towards sainthood was then displayed on the screen. Fr. Praful conducted a quiz based on the power point presentation. After that a superb skit was performed bearing the britto house motto “For God and Country” on the theme small acts can make big differences. The skit was appreciated by all.

In charge Tr. Casey along with her dedicated committee members that included  Trs. Cindrella Dmello, Andrea, Ornate, Vimal, Janice, Sunita, Brinzina, Sir Pathak and Fr. Praful put up an astounding programme where they paid tribute to the Saint who was one of the earliest Jesuit missionaries in India. With the solemn investiture ceremony we ended our Britto House Feast Celebration.
