SSCP Graduation Day 2022

The first ever SSCP Graduation Day was celebrated at St. Stanislaus High School on 16th July 2022. The St. Stanislaus Certificate Programme (SSCP) is a unique enrichment programme initiated by the school to bridge the gap in the SSC curriculum and provide holistic education to its students. This programme is customised and conducted during school hours for all students of standard 6,7 and 8. It involves four transformations: Spiritual, Intellectual, Personal & Social (SIPS).

The students of batch 2021-22 who had successfully completed the programme were felicitated during the Graduation Day function. Along with the Manager Fr. Frazer Mascarenhas S.J., Principal Sr. Arockiammal Anthony, Vice -Principal Fr. Felix Dsouza S.J., Supervisor Ms. Charmaine Pereira, students and staff, the parents of the graduates were also gathered in the school auditorium. The function was graced by notable personalities who had been instrumental in the initiation and success of this programme. Fr. Jude Fernandes S.J., who was the Chief Guest, had initiated the original enrichment programme called JCP (Jesuit Certificate Programme) at St. Stanislaus High School. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Venkatesh Srinivasan, an ex-Stanislite and part of the JCP. Mr. Russell Fernandes Ex Stanislite and part of JCP), Dr. Vivien Amonkar (Ex Vice- principal of St. Xavier’s College and current Director of the SSCP) and Ms. Anna Correa (Ex Principal of St. Stanislaus High School and current Principal of St. Stanislaus International School) were the other esteemed guests in attendance.

Beginning with a prayer service, the function continued with a short skit highlighting the beneficial effects of the SSCP on the students. The much-awaited felicitation ceremony then commenced with the students coming on stage to receive their certificates in their graduation robes and hats. It was indeed a proud moment not only for the parents but also the teachers and management involved in the programme. The students were certainly fortuitous to have such prominent guests amidst them, sharing their experiences and thoughts on the SSCP. Fr. Jude Fernandes, the Chief Guest gave a highly motivating speech towards the end and the function concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Felix Dsouza. The school anthem sung with true pride by the graduates and current students resounded through the auditorium and signalled the end of the felicitation.

Our students, like young birds leaving the nest, have been well empowered with the SSCP to begin their journey in the real world. As we wish them Godspeed, we task them with the sacred duty of being a ‘man for others’ in the famous words of St. Ignatius of Loyola – ‘Go forth and set the world on fire.’
