On Saturday, July 27th, the school auditorium buzzed with excitement as participants from Std VIII to X gathered for the English Elocution Competition, while those from Std V to VII prepared for the Choral Recitation. The event was judged by two familiar faces: Mrs. Margaret Pereira, a former English teacher at St. Stanislaus High School, and Mrs. Christine Pereira, who currently teaches at St. Stanislaus Primary School.
The English faculty faced a challenging task in shortlisting students for the finals. After a series of rigorous eliminations, two classes from each standard (V to VII) and individual participants from Std VIII to X were selected for the finals.
When the day finally arrived, these students took to the stage and delivered their pieces with such clarity, diction, voice modulation, and expression that they left the audience and judges in awe. The level of talent on display made the judges' job of choosing winners particularly tough. After carefully considering each performance, the winners were finally announced. Mrs. Margaret Pereira then shared her knowledge and wisdom with the students, offering valuable insights. The event wrapped up with the distribution of certificates to the winners as well as the participants, with Principal Sr. Arockia delivering a vote of thanks to the judges, teachers, participants, and the Elocution Committee. We hope that next year, even more students will be inspired to step up and showcase their talents.
The winners of the English Choral Recitation were Std V C, VI B, and VII C.
The winners of the English Elocution Competition were:
- First place (tie): Joshyer Fernandes (9B) and Branson Cardoz (8C)
- Second place: Dwayne D'Silva (9A)
- Third place: Sandeep D'Souza (9A)
