She livened up our classrooms,
captured our hearts with great flair,
Even though she is leaving our school,
in our hearts she will always be there!
In 1991, Tr. Margaret Pereira began her venture at St. Stanislaus High School. She was chosen based on her experience by eight panelists. This journey of a thousand miles was the one that taught her values of love, friendship, hard work, sacrifice and aspiration. Her milestone of 31 years has culminated in her becoming the person she is today, “Forever young at heart and 18 till dies”. Her principle of life being “Good timber does not grow in ease- the stronger the wind the tougher the trees.”
1st July,2022 was an eventful day as St. Stanislaus High School bid a memorable adieu to dear Tr. Margaret. The farewell committee had organized a special programme as Tr. Margaret set sail on her new adventure called retirement in great splendour.
The programme started with a procession, welcoming Tr. Margaret and her family. The entrance song truly got everyone tapping their feet, especially Tr. Margaret as she danced along with the boys while being escorted to their seats. After a brief introduction and a short prayer service that included intercessions and a hymn, the teachers and students put together a skit and dance performances depicting Tr. Margaret’s multi-talented personality.
A video montage captured the golden moments of Tr. Margaret’s life. The superb and creative performances were a smashing success and each group succeeded in bringing a smile, a roaring laugh and tears...tears of happiness on Tr. Margaret's face. The fast-paced program ensured that each minute was action packed!
The PTA head, Mr. Kevin D’souza, expressed himself and felicitated the retiree. Ex-students Kunal and Gilchrist stole her heart through their phenomenal dance and heartfelt messages. Student representatives from each class presented a card and good wishes to Tr. Margaret on behalf of their entire class. A farewell speech was delivered by Principal Sr. Arockia.
Tr. Margaret shared her experience of teaching in St. Stanislaus and expressed how dearly she will miss the school! Her son Ashley, an ex-stanislite also expressed his feelings and motivated our students to persevere and not give up. The staff members conveyed their sincere admiration and gratitude to Tr. Margaret and presented her with gifts and cards.
It is rightly said, ‘Retirement is not the end of the road. It is the beginning of the open highway.’ We wish Tr. Margaret a wonderful and fulfilling journey in this new phase of her life.
