The new Student Council for St. Stanislaus High School was ushered in on 4th February 2022. The Student Council plays a major role in the smooth functioning of the school along with enforcing discipline. The process for the School Council elections began in January. At St Stanislaus, a democratic form of election is followed. Hence all students who were interested in participating in the elections had to collect a form for themselves from the library. Due to the Covid pandemic, students had not been to school since the past two years, so the candidates were not known well by the other students. So, this year only the teachers were allowed to vote. The candidates were required to introduce themselves to the staff. Only the candidates standing for the post of School Captain had to deliver a speech, after which a selected teacher would ask them a question to gauge their suitability for the post. After a fair election, the results were declared.
A solemn investiture ceremony took place on the Britto House Feast Day, where the newly elected Student Council members took their oath of office.
The proud parents of the newly elected student council were present to lend their support and cheer for their children. Good leaders always require the full support from their friends and family.
