The Loyola House Feast celebrations kicked off in St. Stanislaus High School with a series of activities to engage all students from STD 5 to 10. This year being the “Ignatian Year”, marks the 500th anniversary of St. Ignatius’ injury by a cannonball in the Battle of Pamplona. The Loyola House Feast is special enough, as it is the feast of the Founder of the Jesuit Order, but this year’s celebration had to have a little bit …extra “Magis”.
STD 5 and 6 had a poster-making competition on the topic, ‘Finding God in everything’. STD 7 and 8 made E-cards for this occasion and STD 9 and 10 boys displayed how they lived the Ignatian values in their daily life through their video clips. The staff presented their heartfelt wishes to our Jesuit priests in the form of a gigantic card. On 31st July, a special Eucharistic celebration for all Jesuit institutions was live-streamed at 9.30 am. Later the link to the celebration video was shared with all the classes.
The celebration video began with a meaningful skit in which our Principal, Vice Principal, and new students to our school, were the stars. The video displayed the E-cards and the videos made by the students displaying their ideals in action. A special band comprising of our students, trained with the help of our ex-students, Joshua Vaz, Krish Pinto along with a parent, Mr. Ian Enthiado, got everyone grooving to their music. Enoch Rodrigues, Eli Rodrigues (ex-students) also helped in the video recording of the band. A dance medley by our students added some more pep to the programme. The celebration ended with the cutting of the cake and singing “The March of St. Ignatius of Loyola”
