The preparations for Marathi Diwas started from the 22nd February, 2016 with beautiful charts on poems, stories, cleanliness, etc., made and displayed by the boys in their classrooms and on the school notice boards. A Marathi Handwriting Competition was also held during the week. The assemblies too were in Marathi. The boys were enthusiastically gearing up for the ‘Marathi Diwas’.
“SWACHATA RAKHA – NISARG WACHWA”
The ‘Marathi Diwas’ program was held on the 27th of February from 9:40 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. in the school hall. The Chief Guest for the program was our very own Vice Principal, Fr. Andrew Fernandes. The program started by the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Tr. Anna, Vice-Principal Fr. Andrew, Tr. Ruby, Tr. Neeta and the Head Boy, Ojas Jadhav.
This was followed by:
1. Prayer Song
2. Speech on the importance of Marathi Diwas
3. Folk Dances
4. Powada
5. Maaji Baag – an action song
6. Play on Cleanliness
7. A PowerPoint presentation on conservation of the environment.
Certificates to the winners of the Marathi Hand Writing Competition were distributed to the students by the Principal Tr. Anna, Fr. Andrew and Tr. Ruby.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks given by the Principal Tr. Anna.
The students and teachers enjoyed the program thoroughly.
