On 2nd July 2013 the Management, Staff and students bid farewell to our dear Tr. Maria Helena Borges. She retired after 18 years of dedicated service to our school. She not only taught English, Science and Geography but also moulded the boys to be ‘Men for Others’.The programme began with a prayer service by the PTA and students. This was followed by a short cultural programme. A song to the tune of ‘Thank you to our Mentor’ was followed by a choral recitation piece. There was a PowerPoint presentation of glimpses of Tr. Maria’s tenure at Stanislaus School and her support team of her husband and children. The boys of Std 9 put up a dance. The award winning band performed their winning song and added some more enjoyment to the programme.
The Finale was a short item of a poem, song and dance by the teacher colleagues of Tr. Maria who then brought her on the stage. She was then presented with some tokens of our appreciation for her years of dedicated service. She then recounted a few of her unforgettable memories as a teacher. This was followed by our ex-principal Fr. Lawrie who spoke a few words about her and our present Principal Fr Jude, too, appreciated the work done by Tr. Maria. The afternoon ended with a lunch for the Staff.
