The Museum on Wheels was started by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya in Mumbai. It came to St. Stanislaus High School on 21st and 22nd August 2023. The theme of the museum was ‘In Tune: The Journey from Sound to Music.’ It was a good opportunity for our students to see and learn about various musical instruments like the sitar, tanpura, flute, tabla, harp etc.
On 21stAugust the students of Std I, III and IV were taken to the museum and on 22nd August the students of Std II were taken to the museum. The team from the museum first gave them instructions on what they were going to see and they were encouraged to ask questions if they wanted more information. The children were excited to explore the concepts of rhythm, melody and harmony on the interactive touch screen. They were also happy to play the tabla, xylophone and strum the strings of the some of the stringed musical instruments. It was a wonderful experience for our students.
