Bro. Joseph Tort passed away from a heart attack, on Wednesday, 2nd February in the evening while working in the office of the Treasurer. The funeral was on the 4th morning. The Church was packed with friends and the boys who were celebrating the feast of St. John de Britto, patron of one of the School Houses.
He had come from Spain to India on the 8th of January 1951 and had served as an Infirmarian in several Jesuit communities. For the last 40 years he was in the Treasurers office in St. Xavier’s College and in Stanislaus. He will be missed by his Eucharistic Ministry and his camaraderie and his attendance to three masses everyday.
