Appreciation day was celebrated on 10th August ,24 at St.Stanislaus High School hall – Primary Section.The hall was decorated reflecting the theme of the programme. The programme began with the welcoming of our Headmistress and the guests . The chief guests were Mr. & Mrs. Fernandes, parents of our headboy, Shane Fernandes, the guest of honour were Mr & Mrs. Miranda, parents of our Assistant School Captain,Luke Miranda and Tr. Jennifer , our former headmistress. Other dignitaries , Tr. Natasha and Tr. Charmaine also graced the occasion.
After felicitation, the programme began with a prayer service invoking God's blessings followed by the welcome song. The boys melodiously sung a welcome song for the parents and guests. The certificates and scholarships were presented to lthe boys of class 4 and 3 in various categories which included academic excellence, friendly nature and hardwork. The skit ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan ‘ based on the theme of Give peace a chance – creating a hope filled future drew an appreciative applause. The ebullient show stoppers of the fashion show took the audience on a tour around India with their colourful costumes exhibiting different states in India. A plethora of mesmerising Koli , Coolies and Dabbawala performances showcased by the students held the audience enthralled. The choral recitation by the boys displayed the different specialities of Mumbai and brought upon the feeling among the audience of being proud of being a true Mumbaikar.The skit ended with the choir boys having the parents grooving on their seats to the song ‘Mumbai MeriHai’.
The boys danced to Bombay Nagaria, with an A.V displaying the beauty and the colours of Mumbai in the background. The students of std 1 and 2 then received their certificates.
The programme ended with words of wisdom delivered by Mrs. Venessa Fernandes ,our Chief guest . Tr.Jennifer, ourformer headmistress also addressed the students and parents. Our headmistress, Tr Raynah, extended a vote of Thanks and congratulated the prize winners and performers for their achievements and hard work. She also delivered a heartfelt thanks to all the teachers for their efforts and contribution. The event ended with the singing of the school anthem.
The appreciation day was a grand success , it was an opportunity to appreciate the boys for their excellent academic progress and to motivate all the boys to strive towards greatness like true Stanislite.
