XAVIER HOUSE FEAST & STD 10 PLIGRIMAGE TO THE MOUNT

On 3rd December2025, the students and staff of the school, as per the tradition went walking to the Mount, reciting the rosary and singing hymns, to seek blessings from Our Lady of the Mount. This occasion was the feast of St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit saint known for his missionary work and his role in founding the Society of Jesus.

The highlight of the celebration was the Eucharistic celebration, with Fr. Ivan D’souza S.J. as the main celebrant. During this service, the students of Std. X received a special blessing for good health and strength to face life’s challenges, particularly the forthcoming SSC examinations. After the mass, all students were treated with a snack. Std. X students then had a group photograph at the Mount before heading home, while students from Std. V to IX returned to school for the Xavier House celebration.

The Xavier House programme began with a solemn prayer service in the school hall. This was followed by an inspiring shadow play presentation done by our stanislites on the life of St. Francis Xavier guided by Sir. Roger, Tr. Pramila and Tr. Geetha. A quiz competition was conducted based on the video of the ‘Life of St. Xavier’ which was prepared by Tr. Golda. Based on this the winners of the quiz were recognized and awarded during the prize distribution ceremony. The celebration ended on a high note with the singing of the school anthem in the Hall.

The day concluded with a friendly throw ball match between the Staff and the School council members. The Student Council won this friendly match. The celebration was completed leaving everyone with fond memories of the day.

The Feast Day celebration was not only a tribute to St. Francis Xavier but also an opportunity to strengthen the strong bonding with our students while promoting values of faith, character, and excellence.
