The 161st Annual Athletics Sports Meet of St. Stanislaus High School, Secondary section was held on the 14th of December Saturday, at The Wings Sports Center, Bandra. Mr. and Mrs. Bhantu the parents of the Sports Captain were the Chief Guests and Mr and Mrs. Pinto the parents of Assistant Sports Captain were the Guests of Honour.
The morning began with the distribution of medals and certificates for the track events that were conducted prior to the sports day. This was followed by the Guard of Honour, where the dignitaries were escorted to the stage. The sports day began with the March Past and the chief guest taking the salute. The march past was judged by Mr Sanjay Dalvi, Assistant sub Inspector, Traffic Department, Bandra Division and Sir Onil Fonseca, Physical education teacher of St Joseph High School,Bandra. The Loyola House marching squad were declared the winners of the same.
Once the Sports Meet was declared Open, different track events like the 100 meters, 400 meters race, the relay, parent’s race, teacher’s race, as well as a race for the EUMIND students took place.
Students and parents applauded and encouraged the participants. A scoreboard was maintained wherein the Xavier House won with the highest points.
Trophies and medals were awarded to individual students for their Outstanding Performance at the Sports Meet.
The morning ended with a speech by the Chief Guest, the vote of thanks by the principal Sr. Arockia and the singing of the School Anthem.
