A Christmas to remember!

St. Stanislaus High School experienced the true meaning of Christmas on 22nd December 2022 at the Christmas programme for the secondary section. The celebration was held in the school auditorium. The school wore a festive look with bells, streamers, wreaths and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Several competitions such as decorating Christmas symbols for the students of Std 5th to 10th, making handicraft materials and the most enjoyable dress to impress elimination round were organized for the students during the Christmas week. The ‘Christmassy’ decorations as well as the crib, the Christmas tree and charts transformed the school into a festive arena.

In charge Tr. Casey along with the dedicated committee that comprised of Trs. Janice, Pritisha, Sunita and Sir Roger worked together to put up a spectacular programme. The staff and students of SSHS stood as a Stanislite family to invoke the blessings of the Almighty through a meaningful prayer service. The programme started with a short introduction about Christmas and why is it celebrated.

Our manager Rev Fr. Frazer Mascarenhas SJ then gave his address to the gathering, about the true meaning of Christmas, and how we as people need to be grateful for everything that we have, and give back to society. He also said that Christmas is not just about colours, baubles, Santa Claus, but rather it is the season of love, gifting joy and peace.

A beautiful skit followed depicting the scenes of the nativity of Jesus Christ interspersed with melodious carols sung by the choir. Right from the conception of Mary to the birth of Jesus a harmonious story was displayed by the students.

Thereafter, was a brief introduction of our judges for the Dress to Impress Competition. The programme was filled with unexpected and unforeseen events as the Christmas decoration came alive and began posing for the audience in the Fashion show on the song ‘Jingle Bell Rock '. The adorable reindeers, angels, snowmen and Santa Clauses enchanted the audience of boys and teachers alike. This, added to the festive atmosphere and brought in the holiday season with gusto. The event ended with symphonious Carol singing performance by our school choir.

The students were further delighted when Principal Sr. Arockia and Vice Principal Tr. Charmaine gave out prizes for the pre held competition and also the Dress to Impress Competition. The students left with sweets, a gift from the PTA and hearts filled with the magic of Christmas.  After the students went home, the teachers proceeded to the assembly hall for fellowship and a sumptuous festive lunch.

It’s rightly said, that  “Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful” and Christmas was indeed beautiful on 22nd December, 2022 for Stanislites.
