FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF GOD - FEAST OF ST IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

31st July is considered an important day for everyone at St. Stanislaus as it is the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola who is the founder of the society of Jesus. To mark this day every year we at St. Stanislaus celebrate this day with great enthusiasm.

The celebration began with a chart making competition from 5th to 7th and book mark competition from std 8th to 10th on 23rd July 2024. The topic chosen was life of St. Ignatius or ideals in action. This gave opportunity to students to express their views and show their creativity.

The cultural program was held on 30th July in the school hall. The Jesuit priest along with school authorities were escorted by school council and school band. They were led by primary students till the school hall. The programme began with a prayer service which included virtual lighting of the lamp by each priest. The priests were felicitated with a bookmark made by students, a potted plant as a symbol of life and joy. A small introduction about each priest was shown using a power point presentation. The prayer service was concluded by prayers depicting values of St. Ignatius followed by a song Give me oil in my lamp keep it burning.

This was followed by a skits depicting the values of St. Ignatius of Loyola (finding God in all things, service and humility, love is shown in deeds and self-awareness  ).The skit had a boy who played the character of St. Ignatius visiting different schools and was very much pleased to see the way in which the feast of St. Ignatius is celebrated in St. Stanislaus high school. The priests were asked to share their views on this occasion. Our manager Rev.Fr Luke Rodrigues S J enlighten us with his views. The cultural part ended with singing of the march of St. Ignatius.

The winners of the chart and bookmark competition were announced and congratulated. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by our principal sister Arockia followed by the school anthem.

The feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola was celebrated on 31st July, 2024.

We began the celebration with Holy Mass. It was a great joy to have our manager, Rev. Fr. Luke Rodrigues to be the main celebrant at the Eucharist. Catholic students of the Primary, Secondary and IG section participated in the Eucharistic celebration. The liturgy was beautifully, planned and representatives of students, teachers, ex-teachers and the non- teaching staff at the celebration, brought out the oneness/unity at St. Stanislaus. The entire congregation was served cake at the end of the mass. The mass was followed by a sumptuous brunch sponsored by ex-students of the batch of 1975.
