Immaculata 2016 Legends of tomorrow

IMMACULATA 2016 is an inter school talent show put up every year by the St. Mary’s School, ICSE, Mazgaon. In its fifth year, the successful show took place on 2 and 3 July and 24 participating schools vied for the title of best School in Mumbai.

More than 150 boys from our school participated in the Performing Art, Literary Art, Fine Arts, Global fusion, Out of the box, Sports center and other events with great enthusiasm.

VAN MAHOTSAVA The festival of trees

Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival in India This movement was initiated in the year 1950 by India's Union Minister for Agriculture, Dr.K M Munshi.

  • Millions of saplings are planted all across India in observation of the Van Mahotsav week.
  • It is expected that every citizen of India has to plant a sapling in the Van Mahotsav week.
  • It helps spread awareness amongst people about the harm caused by the cutting down of trees.

St Stanislaus International School inaugurated

On June 16, 2016, history was made when the new school St Stanislaus International School was inaugurated.  The inaugural ribbon was cut by the principals of St. Joseph’s Convent and St Stanislaus HighSchool Sr Blanche and Mrs Anna Correa and two students of the new school. 

The ceremony was attended by the Manager of the school, Fr Frazer Mascarenhas and the Jesuit community of St Peter’s Church, students and parents of the new school, alumni from SSESA, Mr Gerry Mascarenhas and Mr Al-Naseer Zakaria.

Marathi Teachers Seminar 2016

A two day workshop was organized by the Archdiocesan Board of Education on the 23rd & 24th June2016 for the Std.X and Std.VI Marathi Teachers in order to enlighten them about the new Paper and Evaluation Pattern for Marathi.

Teachers from 130 schools across Mumbai attended this workshop.

International Yoga Day 2016

Yoga is a science of right living and it works when integrated in our daily life It works on all aspects of the person: the physical, mental, emotional, psychic and spiritual. The word yoga means ‘unity’ or ‘oneness’ and is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘yuj’ which means ‘to join’. Mrs. Devyani Ghosh , a Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Institute, Mumbai, demonstrated different asanas to the students of Std V to VIII in the school hall , and spoke about how they help us keep fit, healthy and focus on whatever we do.

Inter-School Basketball Tournament 2016

St Stanislaus High School proudly hosted the inter-school basketball tournament for the fourth consecutive year. This game has provided a platform to schools from Bandra to Malad and beyond, bonding them in the spirit of equality and team play.  48 teams participated in the U-12, U-14 & U-16 categories, boys and girls.

The inaugural ceremony began with the National Anthem, and tournament was thrown open with the release of balloons, followed by the School Anthem.

Annual School Project showcase

Keeping in mind the Stanislite motto “Born for greater things” various opportunities are provided to the boys to showcase their talents. The A.S.P. (Annual School Project) is one of the few which taps into and brings out the best talent in each of our students.  This year we had 55, outstanding students.

Eumind Europe meets India Trip to ‘The Netherlands’

14 students from Std 8th and 9th along with Teachers Prtitisha Murzello and Pramila Gonsalves were invited to Jac. P. Thijsse College, Netherland, as a part of the Eumind exchange programme from 16th April 2016 to 24th April 2016.

As this was a cultural exchange the students were hosted by the Dutch families and the teachers were hosted by the Trip organizer Mr. Wouter   Bregman.

The students attended school and there were various classes held especially for them.

Know Your Army – Stanislaus visits the LOC

The boys of St Stanislaus had the privilege to visit the LOC (Line of Control), Jammu, on the 15th April 2016. This memorable tour was organized by the BIRD Committee.

They were escorted by Captain Ripu Daman Singh and Lt. Gursheen Dillon to Akhnoor.

The students of all the schools on tour had to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Army, And being punctual was a must.

They were also given an opportunity to try hands on the various guns and gadgets.  And were impressed with the combat display and Arms and Infantry weapons.
