Independence Day 2020 Primary

The 74th Independence Day was celebrated by the Primary Section on 15th August’20. Boys were guided through the week prior to the 15th of August and different activities like 2 songs {Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein and We Shall Overcome}, a poem {Respecting the Flag} and an art assignment were planned to get their minds set on the importance of the day.

Grandparents Day

It is rightly said “Grandparents hold our tiny hands for just a while, but....our hearts forever”

Grandparents day was celebrated on 15th February, Saturday in St. Stanislaus High School, by the students and teachers of class-1. The Arrupe Hall was filled with bright and happy faces of around 60 grandparents.

Marathi Elocution (Primary)

This year for the first time there was a Marathi elocution organized for the boys of Std. III and IV, on the 7th of February, to encourage them to learn and appreciate the language.

The boys very actively participated in the elocution. There was an elimination round, where only a few qualified to the finals. The boys took a lot of trouble and came well prepared with proper diction and expression and recited the poem with confidence.

There were three winners from each standard, but all the participants were winners in the true sense.

The Primary celebrates Pongal / ‘Sweet Tooth’ Satisfied!

‘You are what you eat, so eat something sweet!’, said someone quite smart!

The students of the primary section celebrated the harvest festival of Pongal on the 18th of January, 2020. The festivities began with a prayer service followed by a viewing of a video on the meaning of Pongal and its celebration, in every class. The students were also briefed on the same by their respective class teachers. During the break, students shared the sweets that they had brought along with them, with their teachers and friends.

Republic Day Celebration ( Primary )

St Stanislaus Primary School celebrated Republic Day on 25th January, 2020 in the school hall. The programme was put up by the boys of Std. IV. The programme began at 9:15 am. Our Chief Guest was Tr. Gladys, an ex-teacher of our school. The programme began with a prayer service followed by a prayer dance.

St. Stanislaus Kostka Feast & Children's Day Celebration

13th November is the feast of our patron saint, St. Stanislaus Kostka. The boys of St. Stanislaus Primary, had a special assembly for the occasion, the boys learnt of the young Jesuit Saint and his life. On the same day the boys participated in various activities like colouring, drawing and poster making, that brought out the message of the Kostka house, namely ‘Service in Freedom’. A few selected articles from every standard were displayed on the board next to the Treasurer’s Office.

Inter House Quiz Competition 2019-2020

An Inter – House Quiz Competition was held on 13th January, 2020 for the boys of Std.III and IV. Elimination rounds were held prior to the finale and four boys from each house were selected. Students were asked to brief themselves on various topics and the questions asked were based on their level. There were five rounds namely: Question – Answer Round, Visual Round, Puzzle Round, Challenger Round and The Rapid Fire Round. They participated enthusiastically. Fancy Dress Competition Std I & II (Primary)

A Fancy Dress Competition was held on 10th January for the students of Std 1 and 2 . The theme being- Fairy Tale Characters. Each participant was given a minute to share as to why they had chosen that particular fairy tale character. There were 60 participants in all .

The judges Mrs . Gemma  Sequeira and Mrs. Kate Alves both retired primary teachers were presented with a token of appreciation. Childrens’ Hour Std. III Christmas Programme

On 20th December 2019, the boys of Std III put up a meaningful programme on Christmas. The programme began with prayer followed by a prayer dance. The choir sang some carols which was followed by a power point presentation depicting the true meaning of Christmas relating to current times. Boys then showed what their gift to Jesus and their family and friends would be this year through a fashion show. The polka dance added to the festive mood and got all tapping their feet to the melodious beat.
